David Gross joined PCA in 1995 and served as the HCR President from 1995 thru 1998. He has been the HCR D.E. Chairman since that position was created in 2000.  David also currently serves as the Track Chair.
In 1995 he started driving in PCA High Speed Driver Education Events (“D.E.’s”) held at Texas World Speedway in College Station. He truly “caught the bug” and progressed to instructing in D.E.’s in 1998 and Club Racing in 2002. Over the years he has raced in over a dozen venues with PCA Club Racing and built many lifelong friendships in the process.
With the help of good friends in Lone Star Region-PCA such as Jake Taylor, he organized HCR’s very first D.E. event in 2000. Since then HCR regularly held one DE at Texas World Speedway each year through its closure in 2016 and he now chairs the “Austin Schnell Fest” D.E.’s that the clubs hold at Circuit of the Americas. David and Jake Taylor conceived and organized the “Carrera of the Americas” PCA Club Race at Circuit of the Americas which has been an annual event since March 2013.
David’s involvement in the Club has been a family affair. His daughter Courtney Rivers started instructing in PCA Driver Education events when she was a sophomore at Texas A&M in 2007. Courtney currently instructs at the “Audi Driving Experience” at Circuit of the Americas, Harris Hill Road Raceway in San Marcos and organizes SCCA “Track Night in America” events held at several road courses in Texas and Louisiana.
The most rewarding thing about club membership for David is the opportunity it provides to work with a team of tremendous volunteers to put on successful Driver Education events!
