HCR Driving Tours are non-competitive, organized group drives that prioritize safety, scenery, and camaraderie.

The Distance: Tours typically range from 60 to 150 miles, lasting between 2 to 4 hours.

The Pace: We drive at a spirited but strictly legal and safe pace. There is absolutely no racing.

The Destination: In true PCA fashion (“It’s not just the cars, it’s the people”), our routes almost always culminate at a fantastic local restaurant, winery, or BBQ joint where we park the cars and enjoy a great meal together.

Known as one of the most exhilarating drives in Texas, this route offers dramatic elevation changes, tight switchbacks, and stunning canyon views.

Distance: ~100 miles (loop)

Starting Point: Leakey, TX
The route starts just outside San Antonio on State Highway 16. Passing through Bandera—the “Cowboy Capital of the World”—the route cuts north along the oak-lined ridges of the Frio and Sabinal River Gorges. The route passes along the rugged hill country near Lost Maples State Natural Area, before following the course of the Guadalupe River as it descends to Kerrville. Passing south of Fredericksburg—the heart of Texas German country—the route passes scattered herds of Texas longhorn cattle that graze amongst the local farms and ranches.Turning south, the road once again begins to climb into the hills along the “Devil’s Backbone”, a notoriously curvy stretch of roadway with stunning vistas of the surrounding countryside. Rounding Canyon Lake, the route turns back towards Boerne to complete the trip.

Starting Point: Boerne, TX
Bluebonnet season in central Texas means it’s time for our always popular annual bluebonnet tour! This route will take us on a winding path from Leander through the Texas Hill Country & the lovely & famous “Willow City Loop”, ending for lunch at the PERISSOS VINEYARD & WINERY.
The Devil’s Backbone is a famous, winding scenic ridge in the Texas Hill Country (primarily along RM 32 between Wimberley and Blanco). Spanning Hays and Comal counties, the rugged stretch is highly rated for its sweeping valley views, thrilling motorcycle/car drives, and rich folklore about ghosts and paranormal activity.

Safety is the uncompromising priority of the Porsche Club of America. To ensure everyone has a fantastic and secure experience, all participants must adhere to our touring guidelines.

Mandatory Briefing: Every tour begins with a mandatory driver’s meeting. If you miss the meeting, you cannot drive in the convoy.

Lead and Sweep: Every group is guided by an experienced “Lead” car and followed by a “Sweep” car. No one gets left behind.

Line of Sight: Keep the Porsche behind you in your rearview mirror. If they slow down, you slow down. This prevents the group from separating at traffic lights or turns.

Respect the Public: We share these roads with cyclists, motorcycles, and local residents. We do not cross double-yellow lines, and we always practice courteous driving.
