Q: During the recent SCHNELL FEST eventat COTA, who was responsible for the BLACK FLAG and 60 screaming racers being forced to return to the paddock???

A: I’m relieved to report that it was NOT an HCR Member, but unbelievably, it was a turtle. That’s right, I said a “turtle”!!! When the uninvited guest decided to join the action on track, HCR’s fearless HPDE Team was unfazed and carried on as if it were any other common occurrence at COTA. Thank you to HCR’s HPDE Event Coordinator, David Gross, and his amazing Team for staying so cool, calm, and collected while pulling off yet another seamless SCHNELL FEST event, turtle on track and all!

APRIL 24-25  FRI-SAT           TIRE RACK TEEN STREET SURVIVAL SCHOOL

Public Safety Training Center Austin Community College’s Hays County Campus

4675 S. FM 1626, Kyle, TX 78640

Friday April 24 reserved for set-up of the course.  The actual event is on April 25.

Open to young drivers between the ages of 16-21, the school doesn’t teach students how to drive; rather, it teaches young, licensed drivers how to drive better and more confidently, providing them with the skills they’ll need to safely navigate unexpected emergency situations out on the road. The students will become more observant of the traffic situation they find themselves in. They will learn to look far enough ahead to anticipate unwise actions of other drivers. As the students master the application of physics to drive their cars, they will make fewer unwise driving actions themselves. They will understand why they should always wear their own seatbelts, and why they should insist that their passengers wear seatbelts, too.”

Please contact Lenny Zwik [email protected]if you have any questions.  Thanks, Lenny! Event Info – see the HCR CALENDAR
