HORIZNS IN E-ZINE FORMAT– I think most of you would agree that Horizons, HCR’s quarterly newsletter/magazine, is simply outstanding. But you may not know that the team has been hard at work to enhance the reading experience, recognizing that many of our younger and more digitally minded members prefer to read on electronic devices. We have now added the ability to access Horizons in an E-ZINE FORMAT.
How is an e-zine different than a PDF or flipbook? To name just a few features:
- The font size, resolution and format of each page adjusts automatically to the device on which you are viewing it.
- Navigation is a breeze with quick links to all articles and advertisements with access to our sponsors’ sites just a click of each ad away.
- Photos can be displayed at higher resolution and in more immersive ways than possible in a print format.
And we can even imbed audio, like Carl Rossi’ HCR Podcast “Beyond the Paddock! Hill Country” on Spotify or Apple Podcasts or video like some amazing runs at the last Autocross.

This Porsche Club of America Driver Education event is a joint presentation of the Hill Country, Lone Star and Maverick Regions – PCA, with the support of the Houston Chapter BMW-CCA. Drivers of every make are invited to participate, and membership in PCA or BMW-CCA is not necessary.
COTA is the premier destination for world-class motorsports and entertainment and has hosted the biggest names in racing, action sports and music since 2012. At its heart is a 3.41-mile racetrack that was designed to challenge the world’s most exacting competitors while providing a thrilling spectacle for audiences.

Friday April 24 reserved for set-up of the course. The actual event is on April 25.
Open to young drivers between the ages of 16-21, the school doesn’t teach students how to drive; rather, it teaches young licensed drivers how to drive better and more confidently, providing them with the skills they’ll need to safely navigate unexpected emergency situations out on the road. The students will become more observant of the traffic situation they find themselves in. They will learn to look far enough ahead to anticipate unwise actions of other drivers. As the students master the application of physics to drive their cars, they will make fewer unwise driving actions themselves. They will understand why they should always wear their own seatbelts, and why they should insist that their passengers wear seatbelts, too.”

SOLD OUT CANYON CARVER – Designed for drivers who enjoy a more engaging route, this Hill Country tour features a series of curves and elevation changes that reward smooth inputs and attentive driving. The emphasis is on rhythm, precision, and an immersive driving experience. Open to Porsche sports cars only. SUVs and trucks are not permitted due to route characteristics.
