It’s good to be home after an extraordinary adventure on PCA’s TREFFEN AT SEA 2025 – 70th Anniversary Cruise. While there were many, many memorable moments, here’s a brief recap of some HCR cruise highlights:
- HCR started strong with Ellen Graybill bringing home the win for HCR and Zone 5 in the PCA 911 chocolate decorating contest, beating out countless other PCA entries with her decorated & fully autonomous “chocolate 911 Waymo”!!! Ellen’s winning entry was displayed prominently in a public area of the ship throughout the entire cruise – way to “Waymo,” Ellen!
- Rumor has it that several HCR members were regulars at the ship’s Casino (you know who you are!) and one of them “hit the jackpot” big time, but more importantly, went home a very satisfied HCR winner because she knew when to walk away!
- Kim & Bill Foster achieved another key win for HCR, outperforming many other PCA Region entries in the Door-Decorating Contest! This came alongside Kim being the most fantastic HCR Cruise Director ever, and Bill making sure every moment was a memorable HCR social event throughout the cruise. Thank you, Kim & Bill, for providing such an unforgettable HCR PCA experience.
- Finally, HCR achieved its biggest win by having thehighest number of members from any PCA Region on the cruise, with a total of 25 HCR members onboard!
As always, our members made me proud to wear my HCR name badge. The energy was high, the laughs were plenty, and the group came together like the welcoming family HCR is. See you back on the high seas in 2026!

SEPT 11 THURSDAY 9/11 PATRIOTS DAY
There was a total of 2,977 Victims of 9/11 who were in the North Tower, the South Tower, at the Pentagon, passengers and crew of American Airlines Flight 11, passengers and crew of United Airlines Flight 175, passengers and crew of American Airlines Flight 77, and passengers and crew of United Airlines Flight 93. One of the most powerful ways to honor the Victims of 9/11 is by observing a moment of silence at 8:46 AM (EDT), marking the time the first plane struck the North Tower.
